Payor Beware

On a recent local newscast the talking head mentioned a local county that had paid a local vendor several times for the same service. An auditor had caught the several over-payments.

The news person stated the county was going to conduct an investigation of the vendor to see how this could have happened. What about the county accounts payable person, who had overpaid the extra billings in the first place? Duh?
