Showing Off or Showing Oaf
Today a coworker showed me an email that had pictures of the latest women’s style in Japan. The pictures showed several young women normally dressed, except for wearing transparent skirts and dresses. This allowed for clear views of their panties. There were women wearing work aprons, with panties peeking through. There were women shopping with panties revealed for all to see. Supposedly, it is the latest style in Japan and will quickly be taken up in the US.
I suppose we should not be surprised at this new trend after seeing women wearing low rider jeans with thongs riding above the waistbands. I even saw one the other day where enough of the woman’s buttocks were showing to see her tattoos on them between the thong and the top of her jeans. Marked half moons rising. There were two 11-12 year old girls at church the other day wearing thongs under their dresses. As it usually seems to be, the thongs were a bit exposed over the tops of waistbands of the dresses. And every time they stood up, the girls tugged and adjusted the parts of their thongs which had buried themselves in areas that should not be tugged at and adjusted in public.
Yesterday, I saw a male senior citizen wearing a shirt with all of the buttons undone but the bottom one. He was standing in a checkout line of a local store. Slightly overweight, he revealed that he had more cleavage than many women. He was a candidate for a halter top if I ever saw one--or at bikini top at least. At a new local exercise facility there was a floor to ceiling bank of windows built between the exercise room and the front desk. Shortly after it opened, the management coated the bottom windows with a translucent material to keep the desk personnel and other members and their children from having to view the packages of male members as they did floor exercises in front of the window. And recently, a male member began exercising wearing a tee shirt and Speedo style shorts. It was not an appealing picture at all.
At my son’s recent high school graduation, a man sat in front of us wearing a sleeveless black tee shirt and black jeans. Riding above the jeans top was what we always called plumber’s butt. I wonder if he was aware that he mooned dozens of proud parents that night.
Is it me, or are we going too far down the path of showing ourselves? Are people not aware of what they are exposing or do they just not care? Several women have told me that women who wear thongs are very aware of what is exposed. What is next, thongs under transparent skirts and dresses? Transparent panties can’t be too far behind. And what will our senior citizen wear to keep up or to keep them up, a transparent bra for men? If women wear transparent skirts, the next logical step would appear to be transparent shorts. And why not make transparent shorts for men, too? That would be good for the male underwear manufacturers. It wouldn’t do to be seen in your threadbare Fruit Of The Looms. Holes in your Jockeys would be unacceptable, unless it eventually became the style. Come to think of it, that might not be a bad way to advertise one's endowments. The term, “he’s gifted”, would have a hole new meaning.
