Humor and Fun For Adults?

I read somewhere that the average child laughs several hundred times a day, and the average adult laughs three times a day. Why the big difference? I think it is because children work at being happy, and adults work at work.

I had a boss, who was fond of saying, “We don’t go to fun, we go to work.” This top-level executive believed that work is not supposed to be fun. I think he has changed his mind about this. Years ago, when he made this statement, he was in a high-pressure job. Today, he has a home repair business, lives on a sailboat and is planning to join the Peace Corps. He says he is truly happy.

Work should be fun, but it can only be that way if we find something we are truly suited to do. Like my old boss, we should work at being happy.
